Microneedling

Facial Rejuvenation

Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive facial rejuvenation treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural healing process to remodel the skin. Through the creation of these intentional microtraumas, the production of collagen and elastin are significantly enhanced while the absorption of products is increased up to 2000%. The overall effect is a more even skin tone that appears taut and glowing. Nanoneedling increases cellular turnover and collagen production as well as product absorption. The microscopic tips target the entire face and are safe to use around the eyes and lips.

Studies have proven that after only 4 microneedling treatments, results last for 4 - 5 years without maintenance!

Benefits of both include:

• Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles • Improved hyperpigmintation and age spots • Improved effects of sun damage • Decreased pore size • Improved skin texture and elasticity • Decreased acne breakouts • Diminished scars

I use Toma’s Micro+ Pen and professional line of products. Below are before and after photos of microneedling clients:

Microneedling for Hair Loss:

Microneedling does an AMAZING job and helping your body regrow hair, both on your head and/or your eyebrows. 83% of customers say it is worth it! The photos of before and after speak for themselves:

AcuGlow Facial

A facial including acupressure, gua sha, cupping, and LED therapy. The Sculpting Stone used in the AcuGlow facial is carved from bian stone, the material that has been used for centuries in Traditional Chinese Medicine. This tool eliminates toxins, reduces inflammation, and lifts and tones the skin. This ancient stone was formed almost 65 million years ago when a meteorite collided with Earth. Traditionally used to shape many types of gua sha tools, bian contains 40 trace elements and minerals that benefit the skin through ultrasonic impulses.

Microneedling for Acne:

Just as microneedling is great for hair loss, it also works WONDERS for acne! Again, I will allow the pictures to speak for themselves:

Preparing for Microneedling

Stop the use of the following products one week prior to your appointment:

Topical retinoids, Laser treatments, Exfoliating products, Facial waxing, Topical acids and peels, Direct sun exposure, and wait two weeks post Botox and dermal fillers.

After Microneedling

First 24 hours: Avoid washing your face the day of treatment. To hydrate the skin, use collagen serum. NO touching your face. Use a clean pillowcase. No targeted treatments like retinol, glycolic acid, and vitamin c serum for 3 days. No sun exposure if possible and and always wear sunscreen and a hat. No sweating for 48 hours, so no exercising. No swimming for 3 days. No anti-inflammatory medications for 3 days. Make and appointment to return in 1 month. In between microneedling appointments, you can get nanoneedling, which is similar but gentler.

Directly following microneedling, you might notice your skin feeling taut and hot with some redness that lasts up to 2 days. After 3 days, skin may peel or flake as cellular turnover increases. Since congested pores have been opened, some breakouts may happen as your skin detoxes. Within a week or two, your skin will be smoother and glowing.

  • Joanna is one of my favorites. I never had acupuncture before and I was fortunate enough to have Joanna as my first LAC - she is amazing. I feel better than I have in a long time - my moods have evened out, I sleep so much better and I have a newly-found (and very welcome) overall sense of well-being. I truly look forward to my appointments and highly recommend her practice to any and all.
